This Christmas, Decathlon has invited the HNR running team to map three festive-shaped running routes using a GPS tracking device. These bell, stocking and reindeer-shaped routes are guaranteed to keep you motivated over the festive season!
As you may have noticed, the nights are drawing in and the temperatures have started to drop. The arrival of winter also heralds the start of the festive season.
If you’re fed up of doing laps on a running track or fancy a change of scene from your local park, why not draw some GPS art to spice up your runs? We’ve put together 3 festive-themed routes in the shape of a Christmas bell, stocking and reindeer.

Luggage storage: Junction Road Park (request a locker key upon arrival)
Distance: Approx. 2 km
Duration: Approx. 30 minutes
Route:
From Junction Park, cross the pedestrian crossings at the junction between Park Junction Road, Chuk Yuen Road and Broadcast Drive, and then proceed onto Broadcast Drive. You can now start your GPS tracking.
Run one lap around Broadcast Drive (clockwise or anti-clockwise). The route is short and mostly flat, making it ideal for runners of all ages and abilities. The pavement is narrow in places and crosses several roads, so don’t forget to pay attention to the traffic while you’re running.
Luggage storage: Tseung Kwan O Sports Ground / Hong Kong Velodrome (request a locker key upon arrival)
Distance: Approx. 4.4 km
Duration: Approx. 60 minutes
Route:
Depart from the Decathlon Tseung Kwan O store in Sheung Tak Plaza and run a semicircle in front of Kwong Cheong House and Kwong Ming Court. Then run along Tong Chun Street towards the waterfront, passing by Beverly Garden, Bauhinia Garden and the Tseung Kwan O Waterfront Park Pet Garden.
After reaching the waterfront, run towards Tiu Keng Leng. Don’t forget to appreciate the view from the Tseung Kwan O waterfront, one of Hong Kong’s most scenic spots. Turn right when you reach Tong Yin Street and follow the green cycle path until you reach Sheung Tak Plaza.
Luggage storage: Tai Po Hui Sports Centre (request a locker key upon arrival)
Distance: Approx. 6.8 km
Duration: Approx. 90 minutes
Route:
The first two routes are located in downtown areas. If you want to escape the city and enjoy some nature, our third route is guaranteed not to disappoint. After finishing your run, you can continue hiking in the surrounding hills.
The 6.8 km route passes Lai Chi Shan and Wun Yiu – thanks to the small roads, you can draw a reindeer shape as you run. There are also plenty of places to purchase snacks and drinks en route.
